Press Brake Operators
 
 
 
 
 
 
Summary:
Set up and operate various press brakes to bend parts.  Meet quality standards and established rates. Working with mostly carbon steel and galvanize, on exception materials may be stainless steel, aluminum, brass, or bronze.
 
Tools and Equipment:
Computerize gauging controls, press brakes, punches and dies, measuring tape, calipers, protractors, wrenches, overhead crane, and material handling equipment.
 
Essential Duties:
All employees are expected to perform the essential functions of the job.  The DLM Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time.   Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned:
  • Work from manufacturing information, computer information, work instructions, drawings, sketches, and written and/or oral instructions.
  • Operate / Set up multiple press brakes. 
  • Program light curtains for safety standards. 
  • Build new programs/Edit existing programs to meet quality standards for forming all parts.
  • Select the proper tooling, bend and or hem parts per drawing specifications.
  • Maintain required records and documents.
  • Perform other duties, as instructed, necessitated by change or condition.
  • Recognize any malfunctions of the machine, report such to the work group leader or shift supervisor.
  • Recognize / report to work group leader or supervisor when punches and dies are damaged or in need of replacement.
  • Perform daily and weekly machine operator’s maintenance checks and tests such as—wiping dies off, checking oil levels, leaks, gauging accuracy etc.
  • Sort and deliver parts to work area.  Move material to and from work area.  Acquire forklift license. If necessary, Clean machine and punches and dies as required.
  • Clean and organize work area at the end of the work shift.  Keep area in a neat and orderly condition.  Work to 5S standards
  • Exhibit team player behavior when working with others, assist in the training of new team members.
  • Observe all company rules and safety practices. 
  • Follow DLM Inc. Environmental policy when disposing of used fluids or other materials
 
Qualifications Requirements:
The employee must be able to perform all essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. Trained in the proper handling and disposal of hazardous fluids in accordance with DLM Inc. standards. Education and/ or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 2 years of prior fabrication experience with ability to read drawings and use inspection equipment preferred.

Laser Technician

D.L. Martin Co. a 56 year old, Privately Held Manufacturing Company with an excellent reputation. We are currently searching for experienced Laser Technician at our East Berlin, PA location.

Plans, directs, and coordinates the nesting of part programs and machine setup in an manufacturing plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves nesting layout efficiencies.
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow, and designs layout of load and unload areas at burning equipment.
  • Confers with engineering concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors and machine manufacture to determine proper consumables for specific needs.
  • Confers with software engineers to make sure proper setup of nesting is correct and that up to date processes are used and maintained
  • Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding burning capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Makes manufacturing nests using software to load machines with parts required by floor needs.
  • Analyzes new production specifications to determine proper layout, cutting parameters, and setup of the part through the nesting software.

Welder

SUMMARY:

Lays out, fits and welds fabricated, cast and forged components to assemble machinery components, industrial and manufactured products, hydraulic cylinders and sub assemblies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly and welding.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up and welds parts using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc or gas welding equipment.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
  • Reads blueprints and/or work instructions for proper specifications and dimensions.
  • Helps to maintain a clean and safe work area.

CNC Machinist
D.L. Martin Co. a 56 year old, Privately Held Manufacturing Company with an excellent reputation. We are currently searching for experienced CNC Machinist at our Mercersburg, PA location.
 
SUMMARY:
 
Sets up and operates state of the art computer numeric control (CNC) Lathes and machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
 
Include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
 
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations and setup requirements.
 
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work piece as guides for subsequent machining.
 
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders and shapers.
 
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine controls media.
 
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
 
Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
 
Sets up and operates machine on a trial run to verify accuracy of the machine settings or programmed control data.
 
Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly.
 
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
 
Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
 
Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
 
Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
